How much do you know about the vulnerable night shark?

May 5, 2017

Today my Gills Club Newsletter arrived and there was an article about Night Sharks.

The Night Shark is blue in colour with a long pointed snout and green eyes.

It is very similar to dusky and silky sharks.

This shark got its name because its most often found at night, when it moves to shallower water to feed.

Diet consists of fish (Flying fish and sea bass) and squid.

The night shark usually gives birth to 12-18 pups.

There are no recorded attacks on humans by the night shark.

Sadly, the night shark is harvested for its fins of the coast of Brazil.
